Yes. You can stab with them, like with swords, or you can throw them. If you throw one, you don't have it anymore. You can find where it landed and collect it. If it had the 'loyalty' enchantment, it'll return to you. A trident enchanted with 'channeling' thrown at a mob during a lightning storm will cause lightning to strike it's target. The same way you drown Ghasts. Also, there's now an article about Phantoms on the minecraft website. I do not know how to drown Ghasts. You just put them in water. They're not smart enough to get out, and if they don't just get out randomly, they drown. |

There's no water in the nether, but ghasts can drown in the overworld in water. It's possible to bring a ghast through a portal.
