Xain Element Crafting:
The Way It Works:
Choose two of these elements: Fire, Earth, Water, Air, Metal. (To learn the magic, it’s 20% a day)
You may learn more elements later if you so choose. (At a rate of 10% per day)
Abilities:
Fire (Knight Ignis): You can create fire, control existing fire and impact the emotions into others. (E, G: Boomer sends fear into the enemy troops, sending them running away in panic. Or. Boomer sends courage in to the troops he’s leading, filling them with bravado and the will to fight.)
Earth (Knight Terra): You can control earth (dirt/sand) and stone. You can also barrow strength from the earth (Basically super-strength). (E, G: Boomer makes a wall of stone to block a fire attack.)
Air (Knight Caeli*): You can control the winds, fly through the sky and barrow their speed
Water (Knight Pisces): You can control all things water (Excluding other players and NPCs). E, G: A river, an ocean (In small amounts), snow, ice, drinks, soups, fog and the rain. You can sense other people and heal wounds.
Metal (Knight Ferris): You can control all things metallic (preferably iron or steal), you can sense it, basically see it in your mind. Metal Benders are generally better at forging, weapon-craft and from drawing upon the coldness of metal you can ignore pain, hunger or temperature.

Are their any Limitations? Also, I'm wondering about the Metal element. Before you took over the Xain and this continent completely, RuleJJ stated that the Elements of the Crystals (Minus Soul and Time) were the powers of the Xain. Just wondering if you forgot that, or purposefully changed it, or what. If I remember correctly, the Crystals were: Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Ice, Storm, Souls and Time. Now, I personally would love Metal instead of Ice, but Storm was one mentioned by RuleJJ as well.

The limitations would make it less powerful than the New Magic, but since it has physical and telepathic "boosters" (E, G: the super-strength and the emotion control of the Fire and Earth benders.)
I was using the Crystals as something the first Xain would of had used, but when they lost them and they were dispersed across the world, the Xain went looking for a way to get that control back. So long story short the Xain found the Fae, the Fae taught them to tap into "the magic within" or what we would call Chi. The Xain force this energy out of their body and connect to the spirts that inhabit a element, they then bond with said spirt(s) who help them control the elements. Metal Spirts were discovered along the way.

I tried to use elements that would counteract each other, but I couldn't come up with something for Metal. I thought about wood/plants but I thought it sounded a little silly.

They have power over Weather, can command/create lightning, and for their extra ability they could read thoughts (Like Legilimency, not other Mind Reading). Their is a little bit of science behind it, but unless you want to know, Don't worry about it. And no, I'm not trying to push for storm. Metal blocks bad weather, and Metal becomes dangerous at lightning. To me, it makes sense as an opposite.

Using tornadoes could be very effective against the other elements, Storms can be used to harry opponents, and even if Water and Air could block them, I'd say it's likely to take more time for a Water or Air mage to unwind a hailstorm or tornado then it would take a Storm mage to create one. Then it acts as a distraction while the Storm Mage attacks with his direct lightning. Another thing to note, their are certain effects a single given mage wouldn't be able to deal with. A water mage couldn't do anything about the temperatures and wind pressures of a storm, making the storm continually recreate itself, and an Air mage couldn't combat a Dust Devil because of the rock and dirt's momentum. Also, It wouldn't make sense for a Storm mage to not be able to create that stuff. It's your world, but it makes sense to have these things.

While this will probably sound silly, but which element counteracts fire? While traditionally, Water and Fire are opposites, Fire and Air can make sense as well. Air pressure is scientifically created by heat (a major attribute of fire) and Fire can be suffocated by not have air. Water and Earth also can make sense together, as water is blocked by earth, as well as corrodes it away.
